The Wild Fire Detection Web Application was created for a large Utility company to help communities in which it operates plan and prepare for potential fire response. The application uses many data sources, including NOAA, California Wild Fire, Satellite images, and proprietary APIs. My role involved designing and overseeing the entire system's architecture, including selecting the appropriate technologies, platforms, and frameworks used at different levels, such as the front-end, back-end, database, and API integrations. I worked closely with the development team to ensure that the technical specifications were followed and that the system was built per best practices and industry standards. My responsibilities also included hands-on development at all levels but with a particular focus on back-end development using Python and NodeJs to integrate the various data sources into the application.
